FlexPen™

FlexPen™ is the newest prefilled insulin pen designed by Novo Nordisk to be simpler, easier and more discreet to use. About the size and shape of a typical pen, FlexPen™ is a prefilled insulin delivery system that contains 300 units of injectable insulin for the management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Using FlexPen™ requires a few simple steps: dialling the correct dose, inserting the needle under the skin, and pushing a button to deliver the insulin dose. Fewer and simpler steps enhance patients’ confidence in the ability to manage insulin injections. 

The unique features of FlexPen™ include:

• Large, clear scale with audible "clicks" for dose setting, which can help patients' set the dose in dim lighting.
• Cannot dial a dose larger than the amount of insulin remaining in the pen.
• Dose selected can be corrected immediately without loss of insulin.
• Dose scale returns to zero during injection to allow visual confirmation of dose delivery.
• precise dose adjustments in 1 unit increments up to 60 units per injection, for fine tuning treatment.
• Easy identification of insulin type with colour and tactile coding.
• Thin, small (8 mm) needle, minimising injection pain and reducing risk of error (e.g. accidental intramuscularly injection)
