NovoPen ®3 PenMate™

Novo Nordisk has developed an optional accessory for the NovoPen^®3 insulin delivery system – the NovoPen^®3 PenMate™ – for patients who need extra confidence when injecting. It is an auto-inject system that fits over NovoPen® 3 and inserts the needle into the skin automatically. The NovoPen^®3 PenMate™ is useful not just for needle-phobic patients, but also for newly-diagnosed children with diabetes and those with Type 2 diabetes who have to start taking insulin.

NovoPen^®3 PenMate™ is used in two steps:
The patient holds the device againt the skin and presses the yellow button to penetrate the skin with the needle.

The patient pushes the button as far as it will go to inject the insulin. 

Some people choose to remove the NovoPen^®3 PenMate™ auto-insertion accessory when they feel more comfortable with their injections.
